Since you just installed the tonneau cover, it needs a day or so to heat up and stretch out. There is no need to adjust cover length tension. The Latch Assembly is set to the correct tension. Any modification done to this will VOID warranty. Put the cover outside in the sun as much as you can until the material is stretched out. I spoke with Pace Edwards about the flexing and the noise you are hearing on your Ultragroove Tonneau Cover. This is fairly common for tonneau covers at highway speeds, including retracting covers. There are a few things you can check to possibly reduce the noise and vibration; make sure the side to side play is between 1/8" and 1/4" and make sure the rails are flat. In order to install the Replacement Tailgate Top Seal for Pace Edwards Retractable Tonneau Covers # PE99CV you will need to start with the tonneau cover completely open. BOLT locks key to the ignition key so that you can have everything unlocked with one key so that you're not carrying as much or as likely to lose the key. I recommend checking the key for the ignition key for the F-150 first to see if he keyed it to that. If not their locks unfortunately can not be rekeyed and there wouldn't be a way for anyone to look up the key he used during the initial installation process.

It sounds like you may either need to adjust the stops or clean the latches on your Pace Edwards Switchblade Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover # 311-SWF7084. The latches at the center of the cover are spring loaded so if they are not retracting back out when you pull the cover closed there may be some dirt in the handles or latches which is preventing them from extending into the latch on the edge of the rail. Since the vinyl is separating from the aluminum the bonding agent used by the manufacturer has failed. The only real way to repair your BAK Revolver X2 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK39506 would be to re-cement the vinyl back to the aluminum. We don't currently carry the correct bonding agent, but the most popular option is HH-66 Vinyl Cement.

I did not catch exactly what tonneau cover you are referring to but the photo you attached makes me think you have the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Hard Tonneau Cover. If that is the case then what you are going to want to do is replace the cab clamps with the Replacement Jaw Grip Clamp for Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Tonneau Covers part # EX42FJ. You may have the brake locked up on the Bedlocker tonneau cover. There should be a release lever on the drivers side of the canister which will allow you to manually operate the cover. If you are able to operate the cover when using the release lever then there is an electrical issue which is not allowing the brake to be released when the motor is engaged. If the cover will still not budge there may be some debris stuck inside the gears that operate the cover. view full answer...
I reached out to my contact at Extang and was told that air may be getting underneath the Extang Trifecta 2.0 Soft Tonneau Cover # EX92830. To fix this issue, drop the tailgate and look inside the bed to see if you can see light coming through in the front. If you see exposed light, Extang recommends using weather seal to seal off areas where light is exposed. With everything sealed up properly you should not have further issues.

I spoke to my contact at TruXedo about the TruXedo TruXport Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover that you have on your 2017 Nissan Frontier and they have not had any complaints about the cover squeaking but they did tell me to have you check the distance from the cab to the cover and distance from the tailgate to the cover to make sure they are equal. There isn't a tonneau cover out there that is totally water tight, but the BAKFlip F1 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK72203 that you referenced has rubber seals where all of the moving parts are which help to keep the water out and also has a drain system that works to direct any water that gets past the seals to outside of the truck bed. This cover is one of the best options for keeping water out of the truck bed so you will be happy with that aspect of it. view full answer...
As you mentioned in your question, the cover should be able to slide along the groves above the cab header so that you can align it with the bed. If it is not moving like you described then you will want to make sure that the end plugs on the header are removed. The plugs will prevent the unit from moving so this is likely your issue.
